Finding Amsterdam Hotels

It can be quite difficult to find Amsterdam hotels if you do not use the web to help you. Working with a travel agent is one option that you have but this can be rather expensive and limits your choices. The best bet when it comes to finding the Amsterdam hotel you need is to use the web. Why do it? There are several reasons and those are listed here.

1.The internet can help you to find that special place that offers the comforts of home or the romantic feel that you are looking for. If you have some special accommodations or you would like a specific feature to be available, the web can help you to find just that.

2.Finding an affordable price is also a key aspect to using the web to find and book your hotel stay. Prices are very competitive when it comes to online websites offering hotel packages. In fact, unlike many other types of opportunities out there, hotels are almost always less expensive if you do not go to the hotel for booking but rather do it through the travel service.

3.It is very convenient to use these services as well. All you really need to do is to tap into the website, punch in the dates that you are planning to be in Amsterdam and need a hotel and within a matter of seconds you get available rooms for you to select from. With so many various benefits being able to be selected right from the web, you can save yourself quite a bit of time.

Amsterdam hotels can and should be booked through the web. If you are looking for the best way to get into these opportunities, do so with the help of these hotels booking websites. Finding what you really want is out there.

Top 10 unique hotels

Select from the best luxury hotels on an island to cheap hotel prison deals.

When it comes to vacationing, the hotel itself can be as much a part of the vacation as the destination. Before you make hotel reservations at some luxury hotel, think of all the options out there. From a tree house to an ice house, here are some of the most unique hotels from all over the world.

Kamalame Cay: Your own private island

The Bahamas

Do you have Robinson Crusoe dreams of living on your own private island? Well, Kamalame Cay offers a private island getaway with Robinson Crusoe adventures and all the luxuries of a four star hotel. This 96-acre soft sandy island is located right off of Andros Bay in the Bahamas and can only be reached by the resort's private ferry or seaplane. Dotted with private villas, guests can enjoy Caribbean cuisine, some of the best snorkeling and fishing along the island's pristine beaches and can go for a dip in the freshwater pool located on the island. Kamalame Cay feeds the need for adventure while offering romance, luxury hotel accommodations and natural beauty.

Utter Inn: Sleep with the fishes
Vasteras, Sweden

The Utter Inn, or the Otter Inn in English, is a small, floating Swedish red house with an underwater bedroom fitted with panoramic windows, so you can literally sleep with the fishes. The inn is an art project by Mikael Genberg who has done several other artistic hotels like the Hotell Hackspett or Woodpecker Hotel, which is a tree house, located over 40 feet above a Swedish park. Just hope you don't get claustrophobic, because you get dropped off by boat and don't get picked up again until morning.

The Jail Backpackers: A taste of the Big House at a small price
Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia

Built in 1864, this renovated jail now serves as a hostel for backpackers and travelers alike. Located in Mount Gambier, South Australia, the Jail Backpackers gives tourists a chance to spend the night or the weekend in the slammer for budget prices, $45 for a double room, $20 for a dorm room. Don't worry though; you're not locked down at night. This cheap hotel option offers a kitchen, TV lounge, pool tables, quiet lounge with a fireplace, walled garden spaces and a restaurant. The Mount Gambier area offers many outdoor activities, most well-known is Blue lake, which is a lake located in a volcano. There are plenty of hiking trails, cave tours and sand boarding opportunities.

The Queen Mary: Don't jump ship on this haunted boat
Long Beach hotels
Queen Mary Hotel Reviews

If staying the night in a prison isn't creepy enough, try spending the night in a haunted hotel/boat, the Queen Mary. This ocean liner and World War II troopship has a haunted history. One of the most haunted areas on the boat is the no longer used First-Class Swimming Pool. Women in vintage swimsuits have been seen wandering around and wet footprints have been found mysteriously leading from the deck to the changing rooms. The boat/luxury hotel offers more than hauntings, but historic tours, multiple world-class dining options, cabaret shows, a comedy club, spas and suites as well. For $459 you can spend the night in one of the haunted staterooms, but are you brave enough?

Parrot Nest Lodge: In a tree under the stars
Cayo, Belize

Staying the night here won't be as creepy as the Queen Mary, unless you are afraid of heights and birds. The Parrot Nest Lodge consists of two thatched tree houses, four cabins and two bathhouses and is surrounded on three sides by the Mopan River, which offers a refreshing swim. As its name implies there are large numbers of parrots, as well as hundreds of other birds, making this a prime bird-watching destination. Giant iguanas are also another friendly garden visitor. Breakfast and dinner are also included with your tree house room for only $40-50 a night room rental, making this a cheap hotel with resort qualities. Hope you're not afraid of the wild.

Heceta Head Lighthouse: On the cliffs
Yachats hotels

If staying the night in a tree-house was too high, try spending the evening in a lighthouse perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Heceta Head Lighthouse is over a hundred years old and considered by many to be one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world. Heceta is also the brightest lighthouse in Seattle, casting light 21 miles out to sea. The Queen Ann style keeper's house has been renovated into a bed and breakfast where guests get to view the lighthouse at night, a rare opportunity. Also, a seven course breakfast is served in the morning, which is included with your room. Magical is the one word many guests use to describe the Heceta Head Lighthouse and bed and breakfast.

Beckham Creek Cave Haven: Eco-tourist Haven
Parthenon, Arkansas hotels

Taking over four years to create, the Beckham Creek Cave Haven was created with the philosophy that the on-going preservation of our environment is paramount. Set on a 530-acre estate in Buffalo National River country, this cave hotel offers solitude and plenty of outdoor entertainment among the Ozarks for eco-tourists. On the estate alone there is a mountain and plenty of hiking, biking and fishing places.

Ice Hotel: Freeze your ice off
Sweden

A cave of sorts, the Ice hotel is a cavern of ice carved from 10,000 tons of crystal clear ice cut from the Torne River. Every year the hotel must be built from scratch, with new designs and new concepts; it is continually being re-birthed. This luxury hotel includes an ice chapel, an ice art exhibition hall, a cinema and the world famous Absolut Ice Bar. If you can brave the freezing temperatures, the Ice Hotel is well-worth the trip.

The Gladstone Hotel: 37 artist designed rooms
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Each room is not designed out of ice, but designed by a different artist. Located in Toronto, the Gladstone Hotel is a unique, urban hotel with artist designed hotel rooms, as well as short-term art studios and exhibition spaces. The hotel offers a unique insight to the diverse artistic environment of Toronto. Make hotel reservations for the Teen Queen room and relive your Jr. High years or spend the night in the serene Skygazer Room decorated with an amazing wall treatment of plastic relics in cloudlike forms.

The Burj-al-arab: Sail away with luxury
Dubai

Located in one of the fastest growing cities, this Dubai hotel is more than just a hotel; it is an experience. That is if you can afford to make the hotel reservations. Resembling a billowing sail, the Burj-al-arab dominates the Dubai skyline at 321 meters. Acknowledged by some to be the best hotel in the world, this all-suite luxury hotel caters to the affluent and offers around-the-clock attention from highly trained butlers, private reception desks on each floor and a spa and health club. At night, the hotel is surrounded by choreographed color sculptures of water and fire. The Burj-al-arab is luxury at its finest and most extravagant.

Amsterdam Hotels For Less

Finding the most affordable choice in Amsterdam hotels does not have to be a hard thing to do. After all, there are many types of hotels available with some of them being very budget friendly. The goal that you have, if you are on a budget, is to do your homework. With just a wide range of hotel choices available, you will need to be careful in where you look, when you look as well as what you look for. To help you, here are some tips to keep hotel choices less costing in and around Amsterdam.

1.Shop for hotels with packages. Although this can make your choices a bit more limited in hotels, the goal is to fold in the costs of your plane ride as well as your car rental, should you select it. By bringing these things together, you will save a great deal of money overall.

2.Do comparison shops. You will want to spend some time looking at various hotel choices, not just one or two. To do this, use the web. Consider the location and the amenities that fit your specific needs then find hotels that offer similar qualities. In Amsterdam, you will find a wide range of them. When you look this, you will find the best hotel price in a comparable hotel.

3.Take advantage of the last minute deal. Now, these are not always available and if you do wait too long and the hotel that you want sells out, you are in trouble. If you are taking a trip last minute though, you will want to look specifically for last minute deals. These are often very budget friendly as hotels try to fill their rooms so that they can turn a profit for those days.

All of these things can help you to find the hotel that you need and want at an affordable price.

Booking Amsterdam Hotels

When it comes to booking your hotel stay in Amsterdam, take the time necessary to select the right amenities and to look at where the hotel is located. But, do not take too much time looking at these features or you may find your hotel choices rather limited. As tourism is one of the strong suits in the city, you will find many hotels that could be the perfect choice for you. Yet, waiting until the last minute can cause you to miss out on the best choices and the most affordable choices in these hotels. In other words, look but make a decision.

To help you to get the booking process done correctly, there are several key things that you will want to take into consideration when it comes to your hotel choice. First, consider the location. Is it near to the things that you need? Second, determine if the hotel offers the necessary and desirable amenities that you are looking for? Third, determine the cost. This can be a bit tricky though. Many times you will not learn the cost of the stay at the hotel until you get through the booking process. Yet, to avoid this, try looking for the right hotel on the web instead.

It is advisable to try and book your Amsterdam hotel as soon as you know that you will be traveling. If you wait too long, you may find yourself without the room or the choice locations to choose from. Nevertheless, it does pay off to do a bit of shopping around to learn about the right location with the most affordable choice. All in all, your trip to Amsterdam can be an amazing one but only if your choice of hotels is just that. Take the time to book ahead of time and save money and time.

Selecting The Right Location For Amsterdam Hotels

There are a wealth of different types of hotels available to you throughout Amsterdam. If you are traveling there, consider two things. First, consider what attractions and features are important to you. Then, determine what features the hotel that you are going to stay at will have. The good news is that with a wide range of hotel choices available, you are sure to find just the type that fits your specific needs.

One thing that you may want to take into consideration for these hotel choices are the attractions or interests that you have that Amsterdam can offer. Are you traveling for business? Are you traveling to sight see? The choice of hotel should put you where you need to be. Are you visiting Amsterdam to take in the beauty that the city is so well known for? Perhaps the flower gardens that line the streets, the quaint shops that call you in or perhaps you are looking to grow in the museums there. Finding a hotel that is close to these things may be just what you are after.

Amsterdam offers many choices in hotels. Some are even in castles, for that extra experience. You will notice that many of the hotel chains that are quite popular around the world are located throughout most of Amsterdam. Yet, you will also find those that offer a bit more charm and more authentic feels to them. Depending on what you would like the hotel to offer, most offer ideal amenities to allow you to relax and enjoy what the city has to off. What's nice is that some are priced quite affordably to help even those that are looking for a budget travel experience to find just that.

With so many options available, there is no doubt that these hotels are just what you are looking for. Now, you have to limit it to just one to actual stay at.

Beverly Hills Hotels

Beverly Hills has a lot of hotels that mostly cater to celebrities, stars and heads of state. It is worth checking in at a room in one the upscale hotels and experiencing the privileged and pampered lifestyle.

The most famous hotel in the city of Beverly Hills is the Beverly Hills Hotel. It is thought that there would be no Beverly Hills if not for the Hotel. The hotel is located on Sunset Boulevard and was built in 1912 in the middle of lima bean fields. It is fondly referred to as the ?Pink Place?. The hotel receives a lot of celebrity guests and the list is endless. Apart from accommodating people the hotel has also been the location for numerous movies. The hotel is also the venue for most high profile parties, events, and secret appointments. This hotel houses the famous ?Polo Lounge?, which is a famous haunt for the celebrities. The hotel is modest in appearance, is three storied and is engulfed by palm trees and banana trees. The walls are pink in color, roofs are tiled and the cupola holds a flag. There are both expensive and less expensive restaurants within the hotel. The hotel was closed down in 1993 and reopened in 1995 with a better look. The hotel is owned by the Sultan of Brunei. The only thing that is discouraging is that the hotel maintains a card division dividing its guests into classes. White cards are for commoners, blue for regulars and pink for the elite.

Just before Beverly Hills Hotel closed for renovation the Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel located just a few miles away opened its doors to the public. This hotel too attracted its share of stars and celebrity scandals.

Another well-known hotel is the Beverly Hilton, which is more popular as the venue of the Annual Golden Globe Awards every year. The hotel also hosts the annual dinner for the Oscar nominees. The hotel also served as the Western White House when President Kennedy was in town.

The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel will seem familiar even if one has not been to the city. This is the hotel that was pictured in the movie ?Pretty Woman?. It was the Presidential suite in this hotel where the couple in the movie had stayed while in the city. This hotel has an elaborate and ornate fa?ade.

Some of the other elegant and luxurious hotels are the Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Hills Plaza Hotel, and the Crowne Plaza. Most or all such elegant hotels in Beverly Hills attract celebrities and stars by offering a luxurious stay ? and also pampering their pooches.

If you are looking for hotels in Bangalore then the best way to find the right one is to use the internet. The internet has shortened distances and reduced time taken in obtaining information from anywhere in the world. Even from the remotest corner of the world with the use of internet you can be able to book any hotel in Bangalore. There is undoubtedly a good mix of hotels which are provided through the web with the option of making bookings online or even off-line. With on-line bookings the hotels have room allocation whereby you get instant confirmation from the website without any manual intervention. Off-line bookings are where the hotels do not have rooms allocated but the requirements can be forwarded by users through the website to customer service who confirm with the hotels directly and process the reservations. Luxury Apartments Less Than Hotels

After 9/11/2001 a lot was going through my mind. Was it safe to travel? Should I travel?

My sister was going to have her first child and we wanted to travel somewhere before she became a mother. I had visited Paris when I was 17, stayed with a family as part of an exchange agreement. I fell in love with Paris but did not get to experience enough of it so I wanted to go back (13 years later). My sister and I discussed taking our mother to Paris as a gift for sending us to Paris when we were younger.

As we began our search for affordable places to stay in Paris, we began to realize that there were many options. We discussed hotels, youth hostels, staying with friends, etc. As we planned our trip our group grew to 8 persons (my sister, sister's husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, a family friend, our younger sister, my mother and finally myself). After looking at all of our options we decided to look at luxury vacation rentals. We definately aren't wealthy but when you realize that a luxury apartment split 8 ways for one week is little over $150-200 per person for a week in Paris, we couldn't get our minds off finding the perfect vacation rental. Well we found one we liked that was within our budget. it was a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a view of the Sacre-Coeur Church. The apartment was recently renovated and was beautiful. Not only was it available for the week we wanted but it had a last minute special which brought our cost down to $150 per person.

We were within walking distance to Monmartre, Abbesses, the Moulon Rouge. The Abbesses and Anvers metro stations were both within 10 minutes walk from our apartment so we were able to be anywhere in Paris within 25 minutes (Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc d'Triomphe, and the Louvre). It was the perfect base for our vacation.

Not only was renting an apartment less expensive then a hotel but the apartment also included all towels, soaps, laundry facilities, kitchen, espresso maker, dishwasher, stove, microwave; it also had all of the staples for cooking such as salt, sugar, spices. There was even cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.

After our week in Paris we decided that there was not better way to experience Paris, than living as a Parisian in a Parisian apartment!

Rebekah Owens is owner of one of the largest European Vacation Rental listing sites (http://www.vangoghrentals.com). The site has been running for approximately 1 1/2 years with over 600 rentals (mostly of which are in France). She offers free advice in forums on webdesign, marketing, and managing vacation rental properties.

Hilton Hotels Tuck You In In Phoenix

In the World War II flying epic "Flight of the Phoenix," filmed in the 1950's, stars Jimmy Stewart and Ernest Borgnine resurrect their Sahra desert crashed aircraft just like the mythical bird, the Phoenix that rises from the ashes, to fly again.

In the World War II flying epic "Flight of the Phoenix," filmed in the 1950's, stars Jimmy Stewart and Ernest Borgnine resurrect their Sahra desert crashed aircraft just like the mythical bird, the Phoenix that rises from the ashes, to fly again.

Flying into Phoenix, Arizona, is an easy adventure for the leisure or business travel, far removed from the movies, and the Hiltons in the area have you covered - tucking you in whether in the country's sixth largest city for fun or profit.

The Spanish settled in the area in 1752, and today with over three million people in the Greater Phoenix area, spread out over 2,000 square miles, it is no bewilderment why Phoenix Magazine readers voted the Hilton Airport Phoenix the best hotel in town, and often rated one of the best business hotels in the country; the hotel offers a free fitness and business center, and you down have to run to the airport with the free shuttle to your flight out of Sky Harbor Airport, (www.phxskyharbor.com) serving 36 million passengers annually. (Airport parking Services are 602/683-3615; Ampco System 602/273-4545; info on airport construction and garage closures: 602/273-0954.) Sky Harbour is five minutes from downtown Phoenix and the Hilton airport facility is only 1.5 miles from the landing lights.

Phoenix means business and this regional center is home base for America West Airlines, and the hub for many others, including AeroMexico, Air Canada, Air Jamaica, Alaska Air, America West, America West Express (Mesa), American, American Trans Air, British Airways, Continental, Delta, Delta Connection (Skywest Airlines) Frontier, Lufthansa, Midwest Express, Northwest, Scenic Air (Grand Canyon Flights), Shuttle by United, Southwest, Sun Country, United and USAirways.

You, and the Phoenix Hiltons are in the American portion of the Sonoran Desert, stretching all the way down into northern Mexico. Living in the desert means Phoenix, at an elevation of 1, 117 feet, only gets an average rainfall of 7.66 inches per year, with an annual high mean temperatures of 85 degree with 300 annual days of sunshine.

If the Airport Hilton is voted one of the best hotels in town, the town itself was selected the "Best Run City in the World," by the Carl Bertelsmann Foundation, and the Best Managed City by Governing Magazine. Inc. Magazine judges Phoenix the best spot to start and operate a business. All the area and suburb Hiltons host business meetings for executive from around the world. One of the top management schools in the world, Thunderbird School of Management, also shares it's campus here.

The Metro Phoenix area has over 26,000 hotel rooms, with none outmatching the Pointe Hilton resorts Tapotio Cliffs and Squaw Peak. Squaw Peak was the first all suite resort in the United States. Tapotio is built reminiscent of a Tuscan, Italy hill town. Hilton also offers the Hilton Suites, also close to the airport, for business travelers needing a quiet, relaxing, but convenience home away from home for doing business in high tech and manufacturing, tourism and construction, the top Phoenix industries.

Suburbs of Phoenix include Tempe, Carefree, Cave Creek, Chandler, El Mirage, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City, and Taliesen (cliffs or brow in Scottish). Taliesen is the winter home of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

There are 190 golf courses for the snowbirds in Phoenix. The annual PGA Phoenix open is held here and the Standard Register Turquoise Classic LPGA and the Tradition Senior PGA make it their home as well. The Tapotio Cliffs and Squaw Peak share the facilities of the Hilton owned Lookout Mountain Golf Club, one of the top ranked courses in the country.

There are seven Major League Baseball teams - part of the Cactus League - offering spring training camps in the area: the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers and Anaheim Angels. The Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and the Chicago White Sox train in Tempe, a suburb.

And the trivia question of the day: Which Phoenix pitcher is the only pitcher ever to hurl a perfect game in the World Series? Answer - Don Larsen, in the late 1950's, pitching for the Phoenix Giants.
